I hope to post some more details about this soon, but I just wanted to let everyone know that SML2 is well under way and is looking to be awesome.

Good to know — I’m looking forward to using it.

Yea !! Existing version was perfect except for handling bounces, (which is critical to helping keep track of our group of seasonal residents).

After having used version 1, I know this will be awesome. I hope it’s released soon. Keep the good scripts coming

“If you can read this then you should upgrade to a MIME complaint email reader”
SMLmailer.class.php
I think that ought to be “compliant”. I have no complaints at all

Any indicative dates for the new version.

That’s hard for me to say. While I want to get this out ASAP, I get to work on it in spurts. I’d guess that it’s about 70% – 75% done at this point. I will post some screen shots soon, but I don’t have a firm date in mind.

Any news on SML 2 release date? Can I help you with testing?

Hi, I was looking for a simple mail list and I’m going to try yours after looking at many on hotscripts. The one thing I wish yours had was a real name to associate with the email address. Another would be a admin definable groups that a subcriber could select from.
admin said — November 5, 2010 @ 6:38 pm
@noel,
Both will be part of SML2.

Are we going to get a Christmas present ?? (I’ve been good … mostly).
admin said — November 24, 2010 @ 1:12 pm
Sorry Gary, my elves have been working on other projects but SML2 is still in the works — just won’t be read until 2011.

Hello, I’m looking to download SML in the near future. I see that there is an SML2 coming out soon. Should i go ahead and install SML1 now, or will SML2 be out in the very near future. BTW thank you for offering this product and service, it seems to be exactly what i was looking for, very grateful.

That depends on how badly you need a mailing list. SML2 doesn’t have a release date set yet so if you need a mailing list now, use SML 1.5x.

Just wondering about version two. Will it be able to handle attachments and will it better handle html email? So far looks good.
admin said — February 8, 2011 @ 8:04 pm
Yes and yes
Attachments will be greatly improved and HTML will be handled by TinyMCE.

will SML2 be amazingly free as well?
I dont mind paying for it as long as it is affordable to poor fellas like me
by the way, well done on SML 1.5! i have been looking for an SML for ages that luckily i ahve stumbled upon your site/SML. you guys have made my life bearable especially since I am a newbie in web design/development so thank you so much!

Would it be workable on PHP5? Version 1.5- there are few warnings on the script but so far working okay as it should be. I have been looking for a mailing list script that works on PHP5 and this is one of few workable scripts.

Any news???
admin said — June 29, 2011 @ 1:01 pm
Sadly no. Development has stalled while my attention is focused on other projects. Don’t worry though, I haven’t abandoned the project, it’s just on hold for right now.
